Discussions around a new diocese for Wakefield
Five Open Meetings were organised across the Diocese of Wakefield to discuss proposals around a new diocese for Wakefield. All meetings had both a member of the Dioceses Commission and the Programme Manager, John Tuckett on hand to answer any questions ahead of the crucial vote on the scheme by members of the three Diocesan Synods on 2 March 2013.
Copies of the draft scheme as well as documents offering different points of view on the proposed scheme’s impact on Wakefield from a wide range of people – lay and clergy – from across Wakefield Diocese including the Bishop of Wakefield can be found below:

A Design Group (comprising Nick Baines, Bishop of Bradford; Sue Proctor, Diocesan Secretary, Ripon & Leeds and Tony Robinson, Bishop of Pontefract) is responsible for setting the Preparation Group’s work programme.
