Honorary Doctorate for Bishop of Wakefield

The Bishop of Wakefield has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Huddersfield University.

He joins West Yorkshire’s Chief Constable, Sir Norman Bettison and organist and conductor Simon Lindley, who has family roots in the Huddersfield area for the ceremony later this month.

The Rt Rev Stephen Platten said: “It is a great privilege to be awarded an honorary degree by the University of Huddersfield. This award recognises the important and developing relationship between the University and the Diocese of Wakefield.

“Both the University and the Diocese have much to offer one another and have worked together fruitfully on a number of projects,” he added.
