Million Meal Appeal - this weekend

On Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 of October the “Million Meal Appeal” is coming to a Sainsbury’s store near you and they need your help.

Sainsbury's stores up and down the country will be holding food collections for disadvantaged families as part of the Million Meal Appeal led by the charity FareShare.

Last year they collected food for 1.2 million meals for disadvantaged people, so this year they have a big target to beat and they can’t do it without you. They are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to greet customers and encourage them to buy an additional item of food for FareShare, which they will then distribute to hostels, day centres, kids’ breakfast clubs and local projects.

Sainsbury's Stores throughout West Yorkshire including Huddersfield, Halifax and Brighouse, Dewsbury and Wakefield are participating. Volunteers can help all day or for just a few hours.
