Help with downloads or other site problems

Site errors and omissions

If you discover technical (web site) errors or mistakes, please report them, so we can keep the site running smoothly.

If you discover omissions to the content, or have suggestions for how the site might be improved or amended, please contact us. We are keen to enhance and improve what the site has available. Please remember that the main focus of this site is the Diocese of Wakefield, and not individual parishes.

For site comments and suggestions please contact web@wakefield.anglican.org.

PDF files – Adobe Acrobat

Acrobat software produces files ending with .pdf – Portable Document Format. These files can be viewed or printed on any system, with their original appearance and formatting preserved.

Most of downloads on www.wakefield.anglican.org use this software so that the files can be viewed (or used) as the authors intended, and also so that they are relatively small file sizes. The files can be downloaded simply by clicking on a relevant link on a page. Each link will usually indicate the size of the file to be downloaded. Once downloaded, these files can usually then be saved on your computer (although please remember the site's copyright arrangements about how content may be used, and the permissions that are needed).

Most computers have Adobe Acrobat Reader already installed. It is free to download (or can be found on the cover CDs of many computer-orientated magazines). To download Adobe Acrobat Reader, please click here.

Compatability

We have tried to make this site provide good access for people with visual disability, at least to Level 1 of the W3C-WAI Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

Zip compressed files

Winzip is an archive utility for Windows. It squashes files, so that they are much smaller in size – a typical text or Word file can be 75% its former size after it has been zipped. This is very useful when downloading from the internet, where smaller files mean quicker downloads.

An evaluation version of Winzip can be downloaded for free. If you like it or start to use it regularly, you are expected to pay for it. Winzip can be found on the cover CD of many computer-orientated magazines, and can be downloaded from here.

There are several types of software that function in a similar way to Winzip. Any software that will uncompress a .zip file should work.

Site fonts

The site has been designed to use Trebuchet font as its main font. This font is a Microsoft Core font, and should normally be added to the fonts in your system if you install almost any Microsoft product, including Internet Explorer.
