The Urban Advisers aim to offer help and support to those parishes in the Diocese with predominantly urban populations. They hope to bring local and national issues to the attention of the Bishop as well as to those working in challenging areas and facing particular issues relating to the urban environment.

A second meeting is being convened in London by the Rt Revd Stephen Lowe on Wednesday 25 June 2008. The Bishop's Advisers will be attending and will bring up-to-date information back to the Diocese.
Calderdale Conference - Leap of Faith
Thursday 26 June 2008, 11.00am - 3.00pm at Halifax Parish Church. Halifax Parish Church and Calderdale Council are holding a day conference about the role of faith communities in the regeneration of Calderdale. Entrance is free but donations towards the cost of refreshments welcome and booking is essential.
Speakers include the Rt Revd Stephen Lowe (National Bishop for Urban Life and Faith) and Owen Williams (Chief Executive, Calderdale MBC).
