Joining The Mothers' Union is easy!Membership is open to anyone, men and women, who have been baptised in the name of the Holy Trinity and who support the aims and objectives of the society.Branch MembershipMost members join the branch at their local church, or a neighbouring one if their parish doesn't have one. Most branches meet every month for fellowship and to learn more about family life or aspects of MU work. In 2008 the annual subscription rate is £12.00, plus a small sum to cover Branch and Deanery running costs. Deanery MembershipThose members who do not find it convenient to attend branch meetings are encouraged to become Deanery members. They receive regular information about MU activities (so pay a higher subscription to cover postage), and are invited to join Deanery events, Lady Day services, and other special events. In 2008 the annual subscription rate is £14.00, plus a small sum to cover Deanery running costs. Indoor MembersThere are several members who are unable to take an active part in the work of The Mothers’ Union. However through the work of the Indoor Members Prayer Circle, they provide essential support through their prayers for all the work being done throughout the diocese and worldwide. Each Indoor Member has an individual correspondent. The Members receive a personal letter from the WorldWide President at Christmas and a small gift from the Diocese at Easter. Outreach GroupsThese are independent groups, whose members share the values of The Mothers’ Union, and they pay a small affiliation fee (£5 a year). Many are mother and toddler groups, and their members are invited to join in Branch and Deanery events. |
