Care of Clergy
Counselling and support for all employed by the Diocese (lay or ordained).
There are times when any one of us can feel down and unable to cope, times when we need help and support over and above that which friends and family can offer.
This is even more true for those involved in ministry with the particular and unique stresses ministry brings coping with conflict, being overworked and feeling undervalued, handling tension between the demands of God and the demands of people.
Often simply being able to talk things through confidentially with an understanding person relieves the pressure and gives opportunity to think through issues more clearly.
The service has the backing of the Bishop but it is completely independent of him. The counselling offered is confidential. Two sessions are offered free of charge, thereafter an appropriate contribution will be discussed and agreed (financial support for these costs can often be found within the diocese).
If you need this kind of help and support then contact the Bishop's Adviser for Care and Counselling, Revd Chris Bullimore (01924 849161) chrisbullimore@talktalk.net.
