Ministry and Vocation
Ways of serving God through an authorised ministry.
At their baptism all Christians begin a life of service to God. Their ministry can be developed in a variety of ways through a person’s ordinary life and work: in all situations a Christian aims to serve and please God, and to show God’s love to others.
Some people are called and equipped by God to specific ministries within the life of the church. Details on these pages explore various options.
Vocations – An area to help people explore God’s calling to a special area of ministry, or consider how God might want them to serve him more fully. Including the Fellowship of Vocation.
Ordained Local Ministry (OLM) – An ordained ministry with a distinctive focus on a local community. (See also Wakefield Ministry Consultancy.)
Bishop’s Certificate in Pastoral Ministry – Support and training for lay pastoral ministry.
Readers – A ministry of leadership and teaching in worship, pastoral care and mission.
